A sculptor in the truest sense, Joseph McDonnell works in a multitude of mediums. Whether it is bronze, granite, steel or glass, he adeptly imbues his understanding of composition, symbolism, and mass into his work. “My works are personal statements of my faith in man’s profound determination to survive.” McDonnell received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Notre Dame and also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, and at the Harvard School of Design. He has produced more than 150 major public and private commissions throughout the United States. He has been a resident of Seattle for the past eighteen years.
